Mechanical Engineer
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be apprentice trained, ideally to level 3, and will work as part of a knowledgeable team covering both planned and reactive maintenance and project work for a busy factory and facilities
- Working closely with production to maximise utilisation of site assets
- Maintain maximum effectiveness and benefit from existing site equipment
- Assist with development of new manufacturing methods
- Proactively drive improvement and cost savings of energy and utilities whilst maintaining the ability to meet varying and increasing demands from production
- Work cross functionally to deliver a consistent and dynamic approach to continuous improvement
- To ensure all work is completed in compliance with safe working practices
- Adherence of the PPM system, complete and on time
- Completion of all relevant, statutory documentation.
Requirements
- Apprentice trained (minimum Level 3) with strong, hands-on Engineering skills
- Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements
- Highly motivated and able to work on own initiative
- Manufacturing / Process experience with evidence of PPM delivery and control
- Must possess a strong ability to diagnose faults
- Will be open to further personal development in line with the Company training plan
Shifts/Hours
4 on 4 off shift pattern (days and nights), 12 hours per shift
Rewards
- Salary will be £41,000 to £44,000 pa depending of qualification and experience

Industrial Electrician
Responsibilities
The role is part of a team which covers production over 24/7, days/ nights. We require apprentice trained, qualified industrial electrician to add to our existing team.
- Ideally you will have industrial electrical experience
- Be competent to carry out all electrical works including installation, inspection and testing and fault finding
- You will also possess practical engineering skills
- Be able to work on your own, proficiently, to carry out work without immediate supervision.
Requirements
- You must have -previous experience with low voltage systems (up 440V)
- The ability to read and work from schematics
- Ideally have an understanding of PLC systems
Shifts/Hours
12 hours per shift, 4 on 4 off, days/ nights.

Safety, Health & Environment Officer
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and control related documents for the SHE MS.
- Deliver key reporting aspects of the Environmental Permits for JGP Newark Ltd
- Maintain the safety of people and the environment by regular monitoring and testing of Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Environmental Operational Control procedures
- Work closely with the CHP Plant Manager in managing the O & M Contract
- Work closely with the Rendering Plant Managers to manage the Environmental processes and procedures of the rendering plants.
- Responsible for implementing the Safety and Environmental data reporting systems to comply with internal and external stakeholder expectations
- Help drive compliance with the Environmental permit for the Newark plants and their operational systems, and ensuring reporting processes and the compliance process are optimised
- Taking and recording fuel, product and by-product samples for analysis in accordance with designated procedures, against the reference criterion eg EP, ROCs, MCERTS and CEMS
- Liaise with CHP operational team and rendering plant operational team to ensure understanding of environmental permit requirements and promote operational excellence
- Help build strong relationships within the business producing robust processes with clear accountabilities and compliant reporting tools ensuring e continuous improvement and compliance with all agencies and authorities
- Ensure you keep up to date with legislation and action any changes
- Comply with the site health & safety requirements assist with risk assessments and assisting with the writing of SOP’s communicating with the Head of SHE & S and ensure SOP is fit for purpose
Requirements
- The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE/diploma level, or ideally hold a science degree
- You will have experience of EA or HSE legislation with audit experience
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Full clean Driver’s licence
- IOSH Certificate
- IEMA, NEBOSH Certificate or Experience of FMCG type environment Multi-disciplinary stakeholder management will be desirable
- 3+ years previous experience
- Your own transport is essential due to location.
Shifts/Hours
This new role will support the Safety, Health, Environmental & Sustainability Department based at Low Marnham on a full-time basis Monday – Friday and some weekends maybe required.
