Health and Safety Advisor.


Duties

This role is part of the health and Safety team with responsibility in working with the Combined heat and Power Plant and our Rendering factory. Within in this role you will assist in preparing health and safety strategies and developing internal policies. Keeping records of inspections and findings and produce reports that suggest improvements. You will assist managers in completing accident and incident investigations, forming positive working relationships with all persons working for JG Pears, carry out inductions for new starters and contractors, carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.

Qualifications

  • Excellent Written and spoken communication.
  • Strong negotiation skills to implement change.
  • The ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately.
  • Excellent It skills.
  • NEBOSH general Certificate minimum
  • 5 years + experience in a Health and Safety role.
  • Experience of heavy industry.
  • Knowledge of ISO  9001 ,14001 and 45001.
  • Power Industry background.
  • An interest in the law and the ability to understand regulations.
  • Report writing.

Shifts/Hours

Monday to Friday 08.00 to 16.00

Quality Manager


Duties

You will be reporting directly to the Technical Manager and be assisting with the maintenance, monitoring and development of the quality systems in the factory, reporting on findings to the Technical Manager, maintaining site HACCP & QMS systems, conducting HACCP reviews, managing, motivating and training Laboratory and Hygiene teams, ensuring the Laboratory is testing product timely its documentation are correct and audit ready and production targets are met, responsible for FOSS system compliance monitoring, producing monthly reports/trends on Factory and product compliance, reviewing and introducing factory procedures/paperwork, ensuring the factory standards and systems are compliant to meet legal and customers standards, leading internal audits, producing action plans and monitoring compliance, ensuring that actions are taken within agreed timescales, assisting with any customer complaints/request when required, managing and monitoring Pest Control performance, liaising with other managers with a view to improve best and consistent practice.

Qualifications

  •  Display high attention to detail · High levels of accuracy with good problem-solving skills
  •  IT literate - intermediate level with MS Office packages such as Word, Excel and Power Point
  •  Proactive, task orientated and good at completing tasks and meeting targets in a timely manner
  •  Good level of functional skills
  •  Good written and oral English to at least C
  •  Have manufacturing experience
  •  Experience in QMS & HACCP systems
  •  Experience in Internal Auditing
  •  People management skills
  • Must of worked within a similar role QA or QC role.

Engineer Maintenance Fitter.


Duties

We are looking for Apprentice Trained Engineering Maintenance Fitters. You will be reporting to the Maintenance manager and will be responsible for day to day scheduled Maintenance , fault finding and breakdown activities. Adhering to HSE rules and regulations as well as company procedures and policies. You will work closely with factory teams, ensuring business maintains maximum effectiveness and benefit from existing site equipment as well as new installations and projects. Always working in a safe manner and proactively improving all equipment.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role.
  •  Apprentice Trained  in a Maintenance environment.
  • City and Guilds or NVQ level 3 in Mechanical engineering.
  • Ideally NEBOSH or IOSH trained.

Shifts/Hours

4 on 4 off days/nights 6am - 6pm / 6pm - 6am.
